FOR THIS CAMPAIGN, WE TOLD A RELATABLE AND EMOTIONAL STORY THAT BROUGHT THE SPIRIT OF GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL TO LIFE — THROUGH THE EYES OF A YOUNG BOY IN BERLIN. WEARING HIS SELF-DESIGNED DELAY SPORTS JERSEY, HE TRAINS ALONE IN A LOCAL FOOTBALL CAGE, WORKING ON HIS SKILLS WITH QUIET DETERMINATION.
AS HE’S FULLY IMMERSED IN HIS SESSION, HIS IDOL ELIAS NERLICH — FOUNDER AND FACE OF DELAY SPORTS — WALKS BY, NOTICES THE BOY’S PASSION, AND SPONTANEOUSLY INVITES HIM TO JOIN THE TEAM’S NEXT TRAINING. IT’S A POWERFUL MOMENT THAT BLURS THE LINES BETWEEN AMATEUR AND PRO, AND REMINDS US THAT EVERYONE CAN BELONG IN THE GAME.
IN ADDITION TO THE VISUAL STORYTELLING, THE CAMPAIGN ALSO FEATURED A VOICEOVER BY ELIAS, WHERE HE REFLECTED ON THE FEELING OF WEARING HIS FIRST JERSEY, WHAT DELAY SPORTS REPRESENTS FOR HIM, AND HIS HOPES FOR THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB.
AS PART OF OUR MEMBERSHIP ACTIVATION, FANS COULD PRE-ORDER THE CUSTOM DELAY SPORTS JERSEY WORN BY THE PROTAGONIST — GIVING TRUE SUPPORTERS THE CHANCE TO BE PART OF THE STORY.
THIS PROJECT WAS MORE THAN JUST A CAMPAIGN — IT WAS A STATEMENT.
